Our Mission

Our mission is to provide the highest quality health care to our diverse student population. We promote the physical, emotional, social and environmental well-being of all students by providing services in a timely and confidential manner.  Our goal is to promote a healthy life style, reduce illness and disease, and provide access to preventative services as well as providing the health education and support needed to facilitate making the informed choices necessary to pursue academic success.

The Student Health Center is staffed by dedicated health care professionals who are here to provide for your primary health care needs while you are away form home. The Student Health Center is located on the first floor of the Student Services Building on Fifth Street across from the School of Health & Human Performance and the tennis courts.

Medical Clinic

The Student Health Center is staffed by a physician, nurse practitioners, nurses, a laboratory technician, radiology technician and other support staff. 

We will see patients on a walk-in basis from 9:00 am to 10:30 am.  We ask that you make an appointment to be seen in the afternoon from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  Call 237-3883 to make an appointment.

Walk-ins are seen on a first-come-first-served basis and appointments are seen as scheduled.  Emergencies take priority over walk-ins and appointments.  In the afternoon, if you walk in without an appointment, you may still be seen, but appointments take priority over walk-ins.

When utilizing this facility, bring your ISU student identification card.  You can pay for services with cash, check, Visa or MasterCard.  We can also bill  Associated Insurance Plan (The ISU Student Insurance) or other insurance plans for covered services. 

Services Provided

Doctor / Nurse Practitioner Visits -- You can be seen and evaluated for any medical complaint.  We can provide you with some medications or write prescriptions for medications we do not carry.

Radiology -- We have a state-of-the-art X-ray digitizer which can take digital X-ray pictures when needed.  A copy of the X-ray can be put on a disk for easy transfer of the picture for outside referrals.  There is a small fee for X-rays.

Laboratory -- Our Laboratory Technician can perform several tests here at the Student Health Center. Some tests may need to be sent out.  There is a small fee for most lab testing.

Immunizations -- We can review your immunization records and assist you in getting all of the immunizations that you need to meet the State requirements for Immunizations.  There is a small fee for immunizations.
