Don’t Cancel That Class

Dear ISU Faculty:

Is there a class or two during the year that you need to cancel? Well, "Don't Cancel That Class," call upon ISU’s Student Health Promotion staff to facilitate an interactive program for your class in your absence. Don’t Cancel That Class is a resource that provides faculty members with alternative sessions and workshops for students when instructors are unable to attend regularly scheduled classes because of a conference, personal obligation or simply in response to a need observed in the class. These sessions are designed to enhance the personal and academic growth of our students, and can often link to course material. Over twenty programs are available in the following topic categories:

• Alcohol and Other Drugs
• General Wellness
• Nutrition including Eating Disorders
• Relationships
• Sexual Health
• Stress
• Suicide Prevention
• Test Anxiety
• Violence Prevention

Once you find a program of interest, then please call or e-mail me for scheduling. If a program topic that you would like presented is not listed, then please call to discuss your needs. Please allow as much time as possible in advance to schedule a workshop; however, we may be able to accommodate short notice requests. Facilitators may also be willing to host a workshop outside of your regular class schedule if you prefer. We look forward to future collaborations.
Sincerely,
