What are Designated Walkers?

A Designated Walker (like a Designated Driver) is the person in a group who remains sober in order to guide their friends home safely. They are most often seen during "The Walk" at Homecoming.

What is "The Walk"?

"The Walk" is a non-ISU sponsored Homecoming game day tradition that involves students beginning their morning at a bar close to campus and attending every bare for a drink along Wabash Ave until they reach the football stadium.

The Sober Ride Program

The Sober Ride program began in Fall 2010. With the support of the Student Counseling Center, Student Health, Promotion, ISU Police, Communications and Marketing, Union Board, Pepsi and the Dean of Students Office, a FREE designated driver program has been established for Homecoming weekend!
