Scholarship Name: Lena B. Reading Scholarship

Description:  This scholarship was created by the Florence Curtis estate in honor of Lena B. Reading.  The Department of Social Work along with the Physical Education department are the benefactors of the Curtis estate. The award recognizes a junior who displays outstanding achievement in the social work major and the University.
Open To: Undergraduate social work majors
Selection Criteria: To be considered for the award, eligible students must: 1) attend ISU full time; 2) be pursuing a major in the Department of Social Work; 3) must demonstrate a financial need; 4) must have a 2.75 GPA in the social work major.
Award Amount: $500.00.  This scholarship is not renewable
Number of Awards Given Annually: 1
Selection Process:  Applications (Word doc) are to be downloaded from departmental website and submitted to chairperson.

Scholarship Name: ISU Department of Social Work Scholarship

Open To: Junior students who displays outstanding achievement in the social work major and the University.
Selection Criteria: To be considered for the award, eligible students must: 1) attend ISU full time; 2) be pursuing a major in the Department of Social Work; 3) must demonstrate a financial need; 4) must have a 3.00 GPA in the social work major.
Award Amount: $500.00.  This scholarship is not renewable
Number of Awards Given Annually: 1

The Department of Social Work Advisory Committee makes the final determination of these awards.
