OUR SPARKETTE TRADITION
In the 1959-60 academic year, Marthann Markle founded the Sparkettes at Indiana State University. Her vision and expertise in forming the organization has enabled it to become one of the top precision corps in the country. Marthann directed the organization till 1986.
The Sparkettes feature outstanding young women performing on the Dance Team, Color Guard, and as the Feature Twirler. They, along with the Sycamore Bands, have performed at professional football and basketball games across the country, as well as supporting their very own ISU Athletic Teams and the Terre Haute community. They are proud to represent the University and are a valuable asset to the sports and music programs. The Indiana State University Sparkettes are ambassadors for the university on and off campus.
For more information contact the Sparkette Director, Tammy Schaffer at (812) 249-6406.
If you are interested in having the ISU Sparkettes appear at an event, please contact Tammy Schaffer at isusparkettes@aol.com or call (812) 249-6406. We look forward to meeting with you!
