The University Speakers Series, started in 1980, brings to campus each year an outstanding array of nationally and internationally known speakers to meet with faculty and students and to address the general public.
Each year, the University Speaker Series brings to campus an outstanding array of nationally and internationally known speaker who have distinguished themselves as scholars in specific areas.
The primary goal of the Series is community outreach – inviting people to join the Indiana State campus community for an informative and entertaining evening. In addition to the main presentation and reception, many speakers interact with students and faculty in other settings, such as panels, informal discussions, seminars, and classroom visits.
The series was originally funded by contributions to the President’s Society. Now in its 31st year, the program is sponsored by Academic Affairs and coordinated through the Center for Community Engagement.
