Lilly Ledbetter, the inspiration and namesake of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Restoration Act signed by President Obama in 2009, holds an Honorary Doctorate of Law from the CUNY School of Law and has been the recipient of countless national and international honoraria and awards.

A tireless advocate for fair pay, Ledbetter is a featured speaker at colleges, universities, conferences, business, political and women’s groups around the country. She has made frequent appearances on the Rachel Maddow Show, Hardball with Chris Matthews, CBS Morning Show with Gayle King and Charlie Rose, The Last Word with Lawerence O'Donnell, the Ed Shultz Show, The Colbert Report with Stephen Colbert, and PoliticsNation with Al Sharpton.

A national champion in ballroom dancing, she waltzed with President Obama at The Inaugural Ball. Her life story, based on book Grace and Grit: How I Won My Fight at Goodyear and Beyond co-written with Lanier Scott Isom, is currently being made into a movie.

She has a daughter and son, and is the proud grandmother of three boys and one girl.
