CSMS Launched Project at Union Hospital
For the past five months, Dr. Ming Zhou and Dr. Affan Badar supported by two graduate students (Ramesh Pondhe and Stephen Asare) have been working with the leadership of Union Hospital’s emergency room to provide them with a model of the emergency room function of the hospital. The overall goal of the project is to improve the ER performance using simulation and other process improvement techniques.
During the Spring and Summer 2005 semesters, the Center for Systems Modeling and Simulation (CSMS) team will complete phase II of this project. During Phase II, the researchers will modify the model developed during phase I to create a robust simulation based on historical data collect at Union Hospital during phase I.
