Professor Emeritus Qun Zhang joins CSMS
On December 3, 2004, Dean Foster appointed Professor Emeritus Qun Zhang as a visiting senior research in the Center for Systems Modeling and Simulation (CSMS). Prior to retiring, Professor Zhang served as Deputy head of Biomedical Engineering Department 1998—2002 Tongji University, Shanghai, China. Below is a list of his major accomplishments:
- A pioneer researcher in NMR & MRI laboratory at East China Normal University, Shanghai, China (today it is one of the key national laboratories)
- Co-founder of Computer Science Department and Biomedical Engineering Program at Teidao University, Shanghai, China
- Completed research projects funded by DOE, NSF and NIH at Purdue University, IN, U. S.
- Recipient, Confederation of British Industry Overseas Scholarships
Professor Zhang has agreed to assist the CSMS in the following areas: software system development, development of a CSMS website, training graduate students, and technical assistance for grant proposals.
