On June 12th 2015 the Indiana State University Department of Aviation Technology received notification from the FAA that upon completion of our FAR 141 curriculum, graduates of the Professional Aviation Flight Technology program will be eligible for a Restricted-Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (R-ATP).

Indiana State University is one of the few universities nationwide to offer an R-ATP program.  Graduates of Indiana State University’s Professional Aviation Flight Technology major will be eligible for an R-ATP certificate once they have accumulated 1,000 hours of total flight time.  Pilots without an R-ATP certificate must accumulate 1,500 hours of total flight time before they would be eligible to work as a first officer for an airline.
