Professional Aviation Flight Technology R-ATP

Overview

On June 12th 2015 the Indiana State University Department of Aviation Technology received approval from the FAA to allow students the opportunity to recieve the Restricted-Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (R-ATP).

Graduates of Indiana State University's Professional Aviation Flight Technology major will be eligible for a R-ATP certificate once they have accumulated 1,000 hours of flight time.  Pilots without the R-ATP certificate must accumulate 1,500 hours of total flight time before they are eligible to fly for an airline. This allows students to begin their airline carrier career with 500 fewer flight hours which is considerable savings in time and money.
