COT 50th Year Celebration Events

September 26, 2018 College of Technology Cookout for Faculty/Staff and Students   

To kick off the College of Technology’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, faculty, staff, and students gathered for a cookout in between the Technology Annex and the Myers College of Technology. BBQ and cake was enjoyed by all!

October 12, 2018 Egg Drop  

Student organizations and individual students came together to create a corrugated cardboard device to keep a raw egg intact as it fell from a drone elevated at 40 feet in the air. Congratulations to Team Allison for creating a device weighing in at only .12lb yet keeping the raw egg looking as good as new!

October 13, 2018 Homecoming

The Department of Built Environment came together to create a float for the Blue and White Homecoming Parade. The float had a representation of all of the College of Technology departments in celebration of 50 years! You can view the float in the College of Technology 50th Anniversary Photo Gallery. 

October 26, 2018 COT 50th Anniversary Dinner with Alumni/Emeritus

In celebration of 50 years of student success, the College of Technology hosted a formal dinner gathering students, faculty, administration, alumni, and employer partners. Rich Toomey, Associate Vice President of Enrollment Managment served as the emcee, welcoming President Curtis to kick off the event. Special guests including Mary McGuire, Tevin Jones, Eric Wessel, Madeline Hooks, and Doug Dillon spoke about their experiences at Indiana State University College of Technology. The evening concluded with a toast to the future of the College of Technology by Dean Alp.

November 28, 2018 50 Years of Gaming

Join the College of Technology students, faculty, and staff from Noon - 4:30 p.m. for pizza, cookies and a showcase of video games throughout the past 50 years.Choose your favorite gaming console to play with a friend while we continue to celebrate 50 years in the College of Technology.

March 13, 2019 Give to Blue Day

Give to Blue Day is a celebration of Indiana State University, which will unite our Sycamore community and increase philanthropic support for our campus. To find ways you can be involved, visit the Indiana State University Give to Blue Day website. The College of Technology is focusing on support for Student Lab Improvement, Student Scholarship Fund, and the Dean’s Innovation Fund.

Celebrating Give to Blue Day, donors can come enjoy a piece of pie with Dean Alp. 

April 16 - 19, 2019 Earth Day Interior Architecture Design Poster Competition

The College of Technology has been celebrating its 50th Anniversary with a great establishment of group collaboration this 2018-2019 academic year. We will be hosting a poster competition located in the College of Technology's atrium from students in the Interior Architecture Design program through the Department of Built Environment for April 16-19. The approach is to have “student involvement and incorporate a learning curve” with the display. Ms. Monica Larsen (academic advisor for the Department of Built Environment) has been working with the Earth Day committee and the sustainability coordinator, Nick McCreary to help bring awareness to students of how they impact the environment on a daily basis.

April 20, 2019 Textiles, Apparel, and Merchandising Fashion Show

The TAM Fashion Show (Kaleidoscope) is scheduled for April 20, 2019. We will open the doors at 1:00 pm and start the show at 2:00 pm. It is being held at the African-American Cultural Center. Tickets are $5.00 for students with ID, and $10.00 for adults. Tickets are on sale in TC 302 or you can contact Joyce Robinson at Joyce.Robinson@indstate.edu

April 26, 2019 Hangar Dance at Terre Haute Regional Airport

Come join the College of Technology at the 50th Anniversary Celebration Hangar Dance "Dancing thru the Ages" from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Friday, April 26th at the ISU Flight Academy (KHUF Airport, 520 S. Airport Street, Terre Haute, IN 47803).

There will be a meal from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and the music playing all night long! Student Admission - $5.00, General Admission - $10.00

April 27, 2019 Spring Fly-In and Cruise-In at Terre Haute Regional Airport

Come join the College of Technology at the 50th Anniversary Celebration Fly-In/Cruise-In "Flying and Cruising thru the Ages" from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27th at the ISU Flight Academy (KHUF Airport, 520 S. Airport Street, Terre Haute, IN 47803). 

Thee will be a Crowd Favorite Award to the Top 3 Cars and Top 3 Airplanes. No registration fees, cash donations for COT student scholarships. Dash plaques will be given to the first 50 Car Participants. There will be a silent auction and food vendors.
