All ISU students who are exempt from the Basic Studies Non-Native Language Requirement, but who wish to continue language study, are required to take the Non-Native Language Exam to determine the level of language coursework most appropriate for their needs.
If you are an incoming ISU student who is interested in continuing language study, the exam must be completed before attending orientation. There is no charge to take the Non-Native Language Placement exam.
Prior to logging on to the exam site, review the following to ensure your system meets specific requirements.
Internet Connection: To access (and complete) the exam, you must have access to 56K modem dial-up connection. Broadband, cable modem, or DSL Internet connection is recommended for optimal performance

If your computer does not meet these requirements, please use a computer at the any ISU computer lab, your local library, or high school.
If you are an incoming ISU student, and you are unable find a testing site that possesses the necessary requirements to take the Non-Native Language Placement Exam online, you may take the exam during your New Student Orientation session.
