    The Arnold W. Kunkler, M.D. Scholarship

    Established by friends of Dr. Kunkler in 1982. The scholarship was a present to Dr. Kunkler.

    Funds may be awarded based on academic achievement or financial need of the recipients.

    Scholarship Recipients


    The Dr. Ernest and Nellie Nay Scholarship

    Established in 1980 and funded by contribution in honor of the late Dr. Ernest O. Nay and Nellie G. Nay, this fellowship is awarded to residents of IN or IL with preference given to first years attending the Indiana University School of Medicine - Terre Haute. Awards will be made on the basis of prior and continued academic achievement and financial need.

    The Donald and Mary Jo Stanley Scholarship

    Mrs. Mary Jo Stanley established the Donald E. and Mary Jo Stanley Scholarship in 1989, in memory of her husband Donald, who died March 17, 1989.

    Mr. Stanley was a native of Terre Haute and was graduated from Garfield High School.  He earned the Baccalaureate degree in 1931 and the Masters degree in 1945 from Indiana State University.  He was a teacher and principal at Fairmount High School prior to accepting a position with Campbell Soup Company where he was a food Chemist and, ultimately, Assistant Director or Product Standards in Camden, New Jersey until his retirement November 1, 1973.

    Mrs. Stanley is a native of Peru, Indiana, and was graduated from Chili High School and Central Business College.  She served for many years as secretary at Peerless Electric Supply Company and was employed for 28 years with Indiana Employment Security Division where she retired in 1968
