Rebuilding Together

 

Volunteers have assisted more than 85 homeowners in six years.

Since work began in 1998, Rebuilding Together Terre Haute (formerly Christmas in April) has rebuilt homes and repaired the lives of more than 85 Terre Haute low income elderly and disabled homeowners.  

With the goal of providing safety, warmth and independence to homeowners, Rebuilding Together gathers volunteers of all skill levels and sponsorship dollars to help those in need, improve neighborhoods and giver volunteers a meaningful experience.

The generosity of Rebuilding Together's house sponsors and supply builders make work day possible. House sponsors provide funding and teams to tackle the work at each house and include: Sam's Club, Baeslers Market, Rotary International, 181st Air National Guard, First Church of the Nazarene, St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Dever Distributing, Jamax, 471 Marine Corps League, Indiana State University Federal Credit Union and Myers Engineering.  

Supply Builders provide funds and in-kind donations to make work day possible and are: Terre Haute Housing Authority, A-1 Sanitation, Union Hospital Health Group, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 725, Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 157, Terre Haute Rotary, Bopp Coleson and Bostrom, Pilster and Co., Carpenters's Union Local 133, Hamilton Center and Glenn Eddy.

One day each year, volunteers from all walks of life are gathered, and materials are used to repair and rehabilitate homes and non-profit facilities.
