Norman Lowery, president and chief executive officer of First Financial Bank and vice chairman and CEO of First Financial Corporation, was appointed by Governor Mitch Daniels to the Indiana State University Board of Trustees to fill the vacancy left by Don Smith, who resigned effective November 21, 2006. Lowery’s temporary appointment expired July 1, 2007 and he was reappointed until July 1, 2015.
Mr. Lowery is a graduate of Indiana State University and a community leader. He is an attorney and a member of the national, state and local bar associations, the national and state trial lawyer associations and the Indiana and American Bankers Association. He received his law degree from Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis.
Lowery is a member of the Terre Haute Economic Development Corporation, a past president and board member of the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce, a past chairman and board member of the Wabash Valley Community Foundation, and past president, board member and past campaign chairman of the United Way of the Wabash Valley.
