Females in Technology
FIT for the Future

Current Major: |
Industrial Technology Education |

My Career Choice: |
I was drawn to this major by the diversity of the
classes. From Wood to Communication the range
was so interesting. Being a teacher also has
aspects that I thought would make a satisfying
career. With summers off, and short work days,
as well as helping to ensure a promising future
for young minds, there are many aspects to tech
Ed that I was attracted to. I am the type of
person that needs change, and in a technology
field there is constant change. As technology
evolves so will my curriculum and routine, I
find that very appealing. Teaching teach Ed is a
career choice that will be hard to get bored
with. |

My Plan for the Future: |
I plan on developing unique curriculum that is
geared towards the inclusion of females. I plan
on furthering my education, possibly to the
doctorate level. I would like to start teaching
at the middle school level and work my way up to
teaching the collage level. |

Activities, Interests,
Hobbies: |
One of my favorite hobbies is black and white
photography. This semester I am very proud to
say that one of two pieces I submitted was
accepted into an art show. It was very exciting.
To be honest I love anything crafty, I think
that is why I enjoy developing hands-on
activities so much. |

Experiences in College: |
I am a member of TECA and ITEA,
I am one of the people that pushed to develop
F.I.T., and I am the current student leader for
Project L.I.T.T.E.R, I am the current student
team leader for Tech TREK, and this semester I
was awarded the Sylvan A. Yager Industrial
Education Scholarship for 2007-2008 school year. |
