Course Repeat for GPA Improvement Students may repeat a course that was previously not passed, or to improve the grade received in that course. Only courses taken at ISU are eligible for course repeat. The better grade earned of the two will be used in GPA calculation, but both grades remain on the transcript. This process is automatic if the course prefix and number are identical. However, during College of Technology’s reorganization process many courses offered in the College were assigned a new prefix effective Fall 2008 (examples: AST 441 changed to AVT 441, MCT 106 changed to CNST 106, IMT 299 changed to MET 299, etc.). If you are repeating a course for grade improvement and its prefix has changed, a ‘Course Repeat Request’ form must be filed in order to initiate the grade replacement process. Go to the Registrar’s office and complete the form as soon as possible after the new grade is posted. |
