There are a lot of activities that FIT is planning, but a few that are coming up include:

•   Indiana National Girls Collaborative Conference at ISU
    -   September 30, 2010

•   Gender Communication
    Facilitated by Darlene Hantzis, Ph.D.
    -   April 23, 2010

    -   Understanding HOW and WHY gender matters in communication can dramatically impact
your ability to work successfully in a predominately male career field. In this workshop,         communication expert Darlene Hantzis will provide information and tools that will enhance
your competence in communicating effectively with your male peers.

Dr. Hantzis is a professor of communication and women’s studies at ISU, where she has
also served as an associate dean in the College of Arts and Sciences for 10 years and
director of women’s studies for 6 years. She is a recipient of the Caleb Mills
Distinguished Teaching Award and the Faculty Distinguished Service Award. Darlene
was selected as an American Council on Education Fellow for 2002-2003. Currently in
her second year as co-coordinator of a faculty learning community focused on gender
