Remote Classroom and Video Conferencing Facilities
Video Engineering Services provides infrastructure support for all
intercampus two-way video facilities. These facilities serve both distance
education and video conferencing and include 5 fully equipped classrooms
designed specifically for video delivery of classes at a distance. A number
of conference rooms and offices are equipped with professional grade video
conferencing equipment including high end cameras and sophisticated
software-based conference control tools.
Distance Education Classrooms
Each classroom is connected via fiber to a central switch that enables
each room to be connected to satellite receivers, other classrooms, and
either ATM or IP video conferencing codecs. These rooms are scheduled
through Distance Education in Lifelong Learning. For further information

- DE-1 is located in Dreiser Hall 104. It is equipped with two
pan/tilt/zoom remote control cameras, multiple-copy VHS record machines,
graphics camera stand, S-VHS and VHS playback, 35mm slide to video, both
PC and MAC computers installed in the podium, and full two-way audio
facilities including a wireless microphone. This room is intended to be

- DE-2 is located in Dreiser Hall 105. It is equipped with two
pan/tilt/zoom remote control cameras, multiple-copy VHS record machines,
graphics camera stand, S-VHS and VHS playback, 35mm slide to video, both
PC and MAC computers installed in the podium, and full two-way audio
facilities including a wireless microphone. This room is intended to be

- DE-3 is located in the School of Technology 111. It is equipped with
three compact pan/tilt/zoom cameras, multiple-copy VHS record machines,
graphics camera stand, S-VHS and VHS playback, 35mm slide to video, both
PC and MAC computers installed in the podium, and full two-way audio
facilities including a wireless microphone. This room can be either
operated by the instructor or by an operator during a class through the

podium. This room is intended to be operated by the instructor through the

Video Equipped Conference and Meeting Rooms
- Gillum Hall 103 is equipped with both a VTel ATM and Polycom IP codecs.
The room can accommodate six people for this purpose. Call 812-237-4183
for scheduling and availability.
- Rankin Hall 40 is equipped with a Polycom IP codec. This room can
accommodate ten people for this purpose. Call 812-237-3358 for scheduling
and availability.
- Erickson Hall 106 is equipped with a VTel ATM codec, LCD projector and
screen, PC computer, and VHS videotape machine. This room can accommodate
twelve people for this purpose. Call 812-237-2333 for scheduling and
availability.
- School of Education is equipped with a VTel ATM codec. It is available
in one of two locations in the School of Education. Call 812-237-2921 for
scheduling and availability.
- School of Business is equipped with a VTel ATM codec. It is available
in one of two locations in the School of Business. Call 812-237-2000 for
scheduling and availability.
- Terre Haute Center for Medical Education is part of Indiana University
School of Medicine. It is located in Holmstedt Hall and is equipped with
