The following are excerpts from paragraphs written by North Vermillion 8th grade students:

During our tour of the hospitals, we broadened our medical knowledge with the METI simulator. It was a very enriching journey, in which we learned about the human body with the assistance of a dummy named Stanette. I found that it was very enlightening to learn about not only the human body, but about public healthcare, including environmental issues that can affect humans that are in contact with it. We learned many things at the Landsbaum Center.

Overall, this made for a very elucidating circumstance that I will definitely carry with me throughout the years of career planning. Knowing the utile information given to us on this highly educational trip, it will be much easier to explore the fascinating fields of medicine. To those who conducted us on this journey into the world of medical opportunities, thank you. You have truly made this day an extraordinary experience that will put us on the platform leading to prominent careers in very captivating fields.       Amanda Channell

When I went to the Union Hospital, I learned about the human body form METI. I got to see and hear what a person with asthma would look and sound like....... I really enjoyed this field trip. It really made me certain that I want to be in the medical field.... I had lots of fun and learned a lot, and I would like to go again.                                                                                                                                             Karisa Kunkle

I would like to thank you for the lovely experience that you planned for my students. They came back to school and were eager to share with their classmates and teachers the things that they were able to see and do. I am not sure if they realize yet what a unique opportunity they were given. ......................................                                                                                            Patti Spurr, Guidance Counselor:
