The AHEC mission is to enhance access to quality health care, particularly primary and preventive care for medically underserved populations, by improving the distribution and diversity of health care professionals and improving health care quality through community/academic educational partnerships. West Central Indiana AHEC's mission is to promote this mission in the counties of Clay, Fountain, Greene, Montgomery, Owen, Parke, Putnam, Sullivan, Vermillion, Vigo, and Warren.
West Central Indiana AHEC seeks to:
Improve the distribution of Health Care Professionals in rural and under-served areas of Indiana and eastern Illinois
Improve the diversity of the Health Care Workforce so patients have a choice of professionals who understand and respect their backgrounds and preferences
Improve the quality of Health Care Professional education
