Steps to Create a Backup of Your Draft Web on Your Hard Drive:

1. Open your draft web in FrontPage 2002. Click "Open Web" from the "File" menu and enter the URL:
http://www.indstate.edu/~yoursite/draft ("draft" at the end should be replaced with the name you gave to your draft web).

2. Click "Publish Web" from the "File" menu.

3. A dialog box will open allowing you to enter a location to backup your draft web under the "Enter publish destination". To choose a location click on "Browse".

4.  You can choose to backup on your computer's hard drive (i.e. "c:\backup"), or on some other local drive.  ZIP disks are also good to keep backups on. Select the folder or drive where you want to have a backup. Here the destination example is your Local Disk (C: ).

5. Select an existing folder or create a new folder on the local disk to save all the files and folders from the draft web. Select a folder and click on "Open". The folder name will be referred to as "backup" from now on.

6. Double check the destination address and click "OK". A dialog box as shown below will appear. Click "OK" again to have FrontPage convert the destination folder into a web.

7. Now you will see the Publish Web dialog box. Make sure all items you need have a green check mark next to them and click "Publish".

Note: In the above dialog box, check the "Include subwebs" checkbox, if you want to backup other subwebs inside the draft web.

8. A window as shown below opens showing the process of copying all the files from your web to the backup folder.

9. Once the process of creating the backup is finished, a dialog box as shown below will open up. Click "Done". Check to make sure all the files have been moved to the specified location. Your draft web is now backed up.

Note: Steps 3 and 8-10 are the steps that should be repeated if you are creating a backup of the updated files.
