Recreation and Athletics

Watching football on a brisk fall day, or getting caught up in the thrill of a three-pointer at the buzzer – those are only two of the experience you can have cheering for the Indiana State Sycamores.

ISU competes in NCAA Division I Athletics. Women’s sports include basketball, cross-country, softball, indoor and outdoor track and field, volleyball, golf and soccer. Men’s sports include baseball, basketball, cross-country, football, and indoor and outdoor track and field.

For students wanting to stay fit at ISU, our school provides facilities and programs that are the hub of recreational activities. Indoor facilities include the weight room, an indoor track, swimming pool, several multi-purpose gymnasiums, and racquetball courts. Outdoor facilities included lighted tennis courts, a 400-meter synthetic surface track for walking and jogging, and sand volleyball courts. We also have lots of outdoor basketball courts – after all, this is Indiana!

The new 11,000 Student Recreation Center opened in July 2010, and it includes a three-court gymnasium, a recreational aquatics facility, a fitness center, a healthy snacks bar, an elevated running track, multi-purpose activity rooms, and multi-activity courts, as well as locker rooms and offices.
