Indiana State University Alumni and Friends -

Homecoming 2016 is almost here! Plans are being finalized for our 100 Homecoming celebration, and there is no doubt this year will be another memorable experience for alumni, students, friends, and family. (That’s right, this year is the 100 anniversary of Homecoming!)  I hope you plan to join us throughout the week, particularly on Saturday, Oct. 1, for the Blue and White Homecoming Parade, Tent City and Sycamore football game at Memorial Stadium.

As we continue commemorating the Sesquicentennial Celebration Era of our alma mater, you can be a part this milestone by returning to campus to reconnect with friends and colleagues.

The student homecoming committee has planned events throughout the week; Monday, Sept. 26 through Saturday, Oct. 1.  Please check the calendar of events and join us at any of the campus activities.  More specifically, make plans to attend the Sycamore Trike Race on Friday, Sept. 30 at 4 p.m. at the Michael Simmons Student Activity Center on 9th and Sycamore Streets. The Trike Race is a must see Homecoming activity you do not want to miss.

Homecoming weekend will continue Saturday, Oct. 1 with the Blue and White Homecoming Parade, beginning at 9:00 a.m.!  The student Homecoming committee does an outstanding job organizing the nation’s longest student-run parade.

After the Blue and White Parade, make sure you join us for Tent City at Memorial Stadium.  Tent City is a great gathering destination for alumni and friends to meet up with former classmates, roommates, residence hall colleagues, and fraternity/sorority members. Don’t forget to stop by the ISU Alumni Association tent, located in the center of Tent City. The Alumni tent is the largest structure in Tent City; you cannot miss it!  The Alumni Association will have free food, a cash bar, and give-a-way items.

While at the tent you can visit with members of the ISU Alumni Association Board, sign up to join the Blue Card Club and pickup your ISU Homecoming cup.  Don’t forget to bring your Blue Card Club membership card with you to get your free gift! Current Blue Card Club members will receive an exclusive Homecoming gift at the Alumni Tent. Of course, you are welcome to join the Blue Card Club program the day of Homecoming, but I encourage you to join  beforehand so you can easily grab your special Alumni gift.

After you enjoy the Tent City activities, join us inside Memorial Stadium to watch an exciting Sycamore football game.  Indiana State plays MVC rival, Missouri State; kick-off at 3:00 p.m.  Please make plans to attend the football game and cheer on the Sycamores!

While visiting your alma mater and enjoying Homecoming weekend, please take time to look around campus.  Our campus is experiencing record enrollment, new construction, and on-going renovations.  If you have not been back to campus for a few years, you will enjoy the changes taking place.

I have said it before and I will say it again, Homecoming is one of my favorite times of the year!  President Dan Bradley, First Lady Cheri Bradley, and I will stop by all the tents at Tent City to visit with our alumni and friends.  If you see us walking around Tent City or on campus, please stop to say hello.  I look forward to seeing you at Homecoming!

Go Sycamores!
