Robotics and UMS (Unmanned Systems)
This course teaches the fundamentals of our country’s 90+ billion dollar Unmanned Systems Industry using lectures, robotics, micro controllers, and drones. The class will build and test a basic robot kit to develop their understanding of design, construction, programming, and control options. Students will operate several professional-quality flight drones to gain an understanding of commercial opportunities available in the Unmanned Systems market. Students will learn about microcontrollers while building multiple projects with Arduino kits, integrating sensor technology and programming logic for decision-making algorithms. The students will tour the Flight Academy at Terre Haute regional airport, and have the opportunity to operate several of ISU’s unmanned aerial vehicles.
