Introduction to Social Work

The “Introduction to Social Work” Summer Honors seminar will provide students with an overview of the profession of Social Work, including a review of the diverse populations served, the skills and knowledge required for effective practice, and the discipline’s Code of Ethics/professional and personal value systems.  Students will attend lectures and complete coursework during the morning sessions in a classroom setting.  Afternoon sessions will include agency site visits as well as volunteer work experience for more hands-on opportunities.
