It is hard to believe, but it is almost 3 full years since I graduated from ISU. This April, I will graduate from the University of Florida with my Doctorate of Physical Therapy and start my first job at an outpatient physical therapy clinic, Heartland Rehabilitation Services, in Jacksonville, Florida. During my time here at UF, I have been fortunate to complete clinical experiences in a multitude of settings including the cardiac intensive care unit, an inpatient/outpatient stroke and traumatic brain injury clinic, the sports physical therapy clinic for the Texas Rangers, and pro bono care for spinal cord injury patients. While these experiences have been more than I could have ever hoped for, I will always be indebted to ISU for guiding me in a way that allowed a strong personal and professional foundation to be built that has enabled me to reach my dream of becoming a physical therapist. I can honestly say I do not think I have met anybody more prepared for physical therapy school than I was, and that is truly a tribute to the ISU Athletic Training and Honors programs. You cannot argue with results, and if you look where many of my friends who are ISU grads are just a few years later, it proves how great this institution is. I will forever bleed Sycamore blue. Go Trees!
