Jordan Gillenwater, '15

Since graduating from ISU in 2015, I have begun my time as a medical student. I was a December graduate, so I spent my semester off as a substitute teacher and enjoyed my free time with friends and family. In July 2016, I moved from the great Hoosier state to Auburn, Alabama to take the next step in becoming a physician and started medical school. As a student doctor, I have had to push myself harder than ever before, but I have strengthened my personal confidence and fallen even more in love with medicine. Between studying, I am keeping busy with friends and being the student government president for my medical school. My ISU roots (pun intended, sycamore fans) prepared me well, both inside and outside of the classroom, and my undergraduate experiences are ones I frequently reflect on. I am loving every day as a student doctor and Indiana State alumnus!
