Brooke Truax, '15

Brooke TruaxWhen I graduated from Indiana State University, I moved to Bloomington and returned to work at the Owen County Public Library. Shortly after my return, I became a Program Coordinator and now plan and host programs for our patrons of all ages. My work varies from story time with preschool children to crafting with teens to book club for adult patrons. I enjoy being very involved with our library for the many opportunities I’ve been given. I have been able to meet and exchange ideas with fascinating people, including authors such as Lemony Snicket of A Series of Unfortunate Events and political figures such as Superintendent Glenda Ritz. I can engage and encourage a positive change in my community, which I have loved to see grow. I have many interests which include travelling and indulging in my various hobbies. Recently, I have gotten into more professional photography and will be photographing two weddings this spring. As I continue to travel to historic places (and accumulate many photos), I hope to further pursue my education. Be that in another library, a museum, or enrolling once more in higher education, I plan to meet that next adventure with great fervor.
