Renee Warmbrodt, '13
My name is Renee Warmbrodt and it is an honor to be back here updating you all! I graduated from ISU and the University Honors Program with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2013. Here we are, four years later, and boy, has time flown!
Shortly after leaving ISU, I moved back to my hometown near St. Louis, MO and started my career as a Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Working at the bedside with patients and families is one of my utmost passions! To further my career and education, I am working toward completing my Pediatric Nurse Practitioner masters degree at St. Louis University. I plan to graduate this coming December and expand my role as a nurse in the community.
Three and a half years ago, I met my husband, Matt. We were married in July of 2016 and have a lovely home, a basset hound named Stella, and two cats, Jade and Louie. Since we are both in school and he is working two jobs, one with a local hospital and one with the National Guard of Missouri, we hope to settle down within the next few years and start our own little family.
The University Honors Program at ISU offered me so many opportunities that I still vividly remember and greatly appreciate. From traveling the nation with Dr. Bierly, Laura, and Dr. and Mrs. Bradley, to handing out root beer floats in the Honors tent at tent city, the memories are some of my favorites from college! Thank you for inviting me back to share my story with you!
