What do you like most about being an Honors student?
My favorite part about being an Honors student is that I have had the privilege of representing Indiana State University through countless outreach opportunities as a student, community liaison, and advocate for a variety of topics. I love to represent this college and all of the great students that it has within in it. Honors students here at State always inspire me and being around so many talented and driven individuals always pushes me to be the best version of myself.
Leadership and involvement at STATE:
At Indiana State University I am involved in an array of activities and organizations that have challenged me to grow not only in my major but also an overall leader. On campus I am involved in the Networks Professional Development Program, serve as a Gongaware Scholar, and participate in my sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha, while also being the Director of Corporate Partnership for State Dance Marathon on the Executive Board. In addition to holding those roles, I am very involved with being a part of Gamma Iota Sigma, a business fraternity, Student Government Association, and our annual “Give to Blue Day” Committee. Outside of on campus engagements, I am currently a 2019 500 Festival Princess and have had the privilege to volunteer all across in Indiana in an effort to share the pride and traditions this state has when it comes to memorable Indianapolis 500. I keep very busy in all aspects of my life but cannot wait to add being an Honors Peer Mentor to this mix!
What advice do you have for incoming Honors students?
As an incoming Honors student, I hope you realize the impact that you are able to make on this campus and use that tool to push you as a student, leader, and advocate for Indiana State University. This campus cannot wait to see you make a difference so don’t be afraid to step up and become the leader that you have always wanted to be in the organizations or clubs that you are passionate about.
