What do you like most about being an Honors student?

I love that the Honors College provides me with many unique opportunities. The curriculum gives me the ability to take more challenging and interesting courses. I like that my peers in these classes share the same academic goals as I do and that we push each other to do our best. Also, Honors has given me a platform to meet some amazing friends!

Leadership and involvement at STATE:

State has given me many opportunities to be involved on campus. I am involved with Alex’s Lemonade Stand, an organization that raises money for childhood cancer. I also am a member of Sigma Alpha Lambda, which is a service and leadership organization. Additionally, I am in a mentor program that allows me to work with an elementary student at a local school.

What advice do you have for incoming Honors students?

I know college may seem scary at first and you will miss home, but it is important to put yourself out there. Try to get involved in organizations on campus. This can lead to some of the most amazing experiences, memories, and friends that will change your life!
