Cross-Cultural Experience with the Navajo Nation in Arizona

Experiential Learning

Over the past few years, the University Honors Program has developed a relationship with a school on the Navajo Nation in Pinon, AZ. Honors students have had opportunities to participate in cross-cultural and service trips with middle and high school students from the Navajo Nation. In April 2011, Honors students hosted a visiting group of students from the Navajo Nation at Indiana State University. In October 2011 and October 2012, groups of Honors students traveled to Arizona to visit the reservation, participate in service projects, and learn more about the Navajo culture.
