Admission: Professional Aviation Flight Technology

Enrollment in Professional Aviation Flight Technology (PAFT) will be based on selective criteria.

Admission Criteria

Criteria will include:

  • 2.5 cumulative GPA
  • SAT 1070 or ACT 21
  • Documentation of Private Pilot Certificate (if applicable)
  • Essay
  • Interview with Aviation faculty/staff

Transfer Admission Criteria

The following criteria applies to transfer students and ISU change of major students.

Criteria will include:

  • 2.5 cumulative GPA
  • Trend of recent semester grades will be considered
  • Documentation of Private Pilot Certificate (if applicable)
  • Essay
  • Interview with Aviation faculty/staff

Official SAT or ACT scores for transfer students: SAT 1070 or ACT 21; not required if applicant is 21 (or more) years of age, or if applicant has earned 24 (or more) transferable hours.

Official transcripts for transfer students: Submit official transcripts from all colleges previously attended. Applicants with fewer than 24 transferable hours must also submit an official high school transcript.

When to Apply

Students must be admitted by January 15 prior to the desired fall enrollment for preferred consideration. Students should allow 2-3 weeks for institutions to process a request to send a transcript to Indiana State University.

PAFT Admission Notification

Applicants will be notified of their admission status by March 15 prior to the desired fall enrollment in the program.
