The Office of New Student Transition Programs hires passionate undergraduate student leaders each year to facilitate transitional programming. Students must be comfortable working in intense team environments, speaking in front of groups of students, and have a deep connection to Indiana State University.
Student Leaders may be employed in the same position for a maximum of two terms with the exception of Blue Team Leader. For example, a leader can work as a Welcome Team Student Leader for two terms and then apply for/be hired for New Student Transition Programs Office Assistant or Welcome Team Coordinator for one or two terms.

Welcome Team Coordinator (WTC)
Welcome Team Coordinators assist with the implementation of New Student Orientation, work with Welcome Team Leaders, assist with the Summer Honors Program, fulfill Admissions Office duties, and help coordinate the Fall Welcome Program. This opportunity would not only allow undergraduate students to gain supervisory experience, but also programmatic, and other administrative experience.
Welcome Team Student Leader (WTSL)
Welcome Team Student Leaders assist with New Student Orientation, Summer Honors, and Fall Welcome. This opportunity will not only allow undergraduate students to have an impact on the experiences of new students, but also gain more knowledge about the university and supervision of other leaders. Applications are open November through January.
Welcome Team Family Leader (WTFL)
Welcome Team Family Leaders provide support to families and guests during New Student Orientation and assist with Fall Welcome. This opportunity will not only allow undergraduate students to have an impact on the experiences of families and new students, but also gain more knowledge about the university and supervision of other leaders. Applications are open November through January.
Blue Team Leader (BTL)
Blue Team Leaders provide assistance to incoming students throughout the Fall Welcome program by assisting students moving into their residence halls, preparing students for the first day of class, and being available to answer questions and address concerns that students and families may have during the move-in process. Applications open in February.
NSTP Office Assistant
The Office Assistant is responsible for administrative duties and tasks related to the successful implementation of student leader training, New Student Orientation, Fall Welcome, and other office hosted programs. Applications open in February.
