Alumni Service Awards

The Indiana State University Alumni Association and Division of University Engagement invite nominations from alumni and friends for the Outstanding Community Service Award and Alumni Volunteer Service Award. These awards honor alumni whose actions exemplify ISU’s commitment to community engagement.

Outstanding Community Service Award

The Outstanding Community Service Award is presented annually by the Division of University Engagement and Alumni Association to an individual who has had a lasting impact through exceptional service to the community.

All ISU alumni are eligible to be nominated for the award.

Criteria

  • Demonstration of exceptional character and integrity through sustained service to the community.
  • A record of voluntary community service that extends beyond standard career responsibilities.

The nominee's service can be local, national, or international in scope. The focus of service can include, but is not limited to: human services, the arts, recreation and sports, education, government, human rights, and the environment.

Nomination Process

Nominations are made on-line through the Alumni Association website. Nominators will provide a statement of the nominee's qualifications and a current resume. Optional supporting documentation includes personal letters from organizations or community leaders and media clippings that highlight the ways the nominee impacts the community through service. The winner will be selected by the Alumni Association Signature Events Committee. Nominations are due by December 1, 2016 with selection completed by early January. The award will be presented at the Community Engagement Awards Banquet in March.

 

Alumni Volunteer Service Award

The Alumni Volunteer Service Award is presented annually to an individual who has demonstrated extraordinary loyalty through significant voluntary service to Indiana State University.

All ISU alumni are eligible to be nominated for the award.

Criteria

Demonstration of significant service and loyalty to Indiana State University through volunteer leadership roles, career assistance to students and alumni, involvement with prospective students, engagement with academic programs, and/or advising and volunteering with student organizations, including Greek letter organizations.

Nomination Process

Nominations are made on-line through the Alumni Association website. Nominators will provide a statement of the nominee's qualifications and a current resume. Optional supporting documentation includes letters from ISU faculty, staff, alumni and students or media clippings that highlight the ways the nominee has served the University. The winner will be selected by the Alumni Association Signature Events Committee. Nominations are due by December 1, 2017 with selection completed by early January. The award will be presented at the Community Engagement Awards Banquet in March.
