Marketing Student Organizations
American Marketing Association
The Indiana State University student chapter of the American Marketing Association is open to students of all majors and provides an excellent opportunity to gain marketing and leadership experience, while having fun. The organization strives to provide hands-on experience in the following areas: retailing, advertising, new product development, nonprofit, sales, research, and promotion.
The chapter at Indiana State University offers a unique environment for both networking with marketing professionals and faculty, as well as promoting social activities between students, faculty and community business people. Several programs have been sponsored annually by the student organization: a student-faculty volleyball challenge and the Spring banquet as well as field trips to Indianapolis and Chicago. A variety of speakers have addressed the chapter including business leaders from IBM and Old National Bank. A joint effort with the business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi, brought former Indiana Governor Bayh's press secretary to campus.
The chapter has received national recognition in efficiency awards and attends the annual conference in New Orleans. Several other outings and conferences are attended by members throughout the academic year. A shadow day provides members with the opportunity to experience first-hand the typical business day of a chosen business professional. Other benefits of membership include a regular newsletter written and published by the students and the opportunity to participate in a team-building course. AMA members also work closely with area high school DECA students to enhance their marketing education experiences. The AMA has something to offer students from all academic disciplines and welcomes new members to become involved
The ISU chapter is extremely proud to be affiliated with the American Marketing Association which has its international headquarters in Chicago, IL. Visit its homepage: American Marketing Association
