Intern Day 2019
Thursday, July 25, 2019 was both National Intern Day and the first Indiana Intern Day. This page highlights some of our students and where they are interning at.
Anne Bowen is an honors student majoring in Insurance & Risk Management and Financial Services. Anne is interning at MedPro Group in Fort Wayne. She says "During my internship I am working in the Underwriting Department where I will be working with doctors and surgeons to protect them from medical malpractice lawsuits. I work across multiple divisions to see that each client is receiving vital documentation and up to date premium billing."

Connor Carlisle is a junior majoring in Marketing and Business with a minor in Sports Management. Connor is a member of the Delta Tau chapter of Delta Sigma Pi. He is an Operations Intern at Bullpen Tournaments located in Westfield, IN. Connor helps set up and maintain 26 baseball fields, preps them for a tournament every week, running up to 4 fields at a time, and assist the umpires. Connor says that “working in sports is long hours but is worth every second.”

Rylie Daisha is a Marketing and Communications Intern at Girl Scouts of Central Indiana. Rylie says "What I have been doing is market research and analytics, social media design and scheduling, website design and updates, and a little bit of photography and photo editing. I also have been branching out to other areas of the nonprofit to discover how the communications and various departments work together."

Hannah Davis is studying Marketing and Sales and will receive a Medical Sales Certificate along with her diploma upon graduation. She is an intern at Stryker Medical in Seattle, Washington. "I am the inside sales intern and will be working on spending forecasts in order to help our Sales Team be most efficient and effective with our customers' future budgets." Lilly Hancock has a Management internship at Menards in Bloomington, IN "I am shadowing the department management team in the store to see the perspective of each members' role and to gain hands-on experience."

Beau Harpenau a Networks Scholar majoring in Marketing. Beau is interning at Blank Page Marketing, an all-agriculture agency, in Indianapolis. Beau says "I am working on multiple agriculture projects and other general marketing tasks."

Kyle Hollinden is a junior marketing major with a minor in Supply Chain Management, a Networks Scholar and a member of the Delta Tau chapter of Delta Sigma Pi. He is interning as a Channel Marketing Intern for Home Depot at Masterbrand Cabinets in Jasper, IN. Kyle says that “I travel to local Home Depot’s and reset sell centers, create content for social media, and assist with our collection launch strategies. I have learned branding and the relationship between the builder, dealer, and consumer. My favorite part of the experience is the creative brainstorming”

Makayla Irish is a Supply Chain Intern at Harrison Manufacturing Incorporated in Terre Haute. "As a supply chain intern, I am in charge of multiple six sigma projects that improve processes and reduce variation in manufacturing. I work with many departments across the company, helping expand my knowledge of business operations and the aerospace industry."

Natalie Lawson is interning at United Launch Alliance in Denver Colorado.⠀"I am the Financial Planning and Analysis Intern where I will be learning more about the company and do multiple different worksheets and tasks for forecasting cash flow."

Abby Markowski is a junior majoring in Marketing and minoring in Sales and Negotiation. She is a member of the Delta Tau chapter of Delta Sigma Pi. Abby is a Social Media Intern at NUVEW Web Solutions located in Crown Point, IN. Abby says “Since I began working here, I have had the opportunity to learn many useful skills, including geotagging for Google My Business, and I am eager to learn even more. I have always loved social media and I am constantly using social media, so I really enjoy my job at NUVEW as a Social Media Intern!”

JC Oudes is a Property Management Intern at Greystar in Chicago. JC says "My main responsibility is to lease apartments at various locations and help construct marketing events for current residents and prospects while also assisting with other things such as audits on properties for sale."

Arlington/Roe have been friends of the college for many years now. Erika Perry is a Gongaware Scholar majoring in Insurance and Risk Management and was part of the VicTree Insurance team that won the College Agency Management Competition in March. Nathan Bromm is a Networks Scholar also majoring in Insurance and Risk Management.

Alijah Rogers is interning at Camp Cobbosee in Monmouth, Maine. "I am the summer accountant in charge of payroll, invoices, bank reconciliation and many more! I also became the new golf counselor so I work in the morning and teach in the afternoon. This experience has been so amazing and I owe it all to my peers that helped me get this amazing opportunity to go outside my comfort zone and try new things!"
Hunter Stallings is a Gongaware Scholar majoring in Insurance and Risk Management. Hunter is a Property Claims Intern at Liberty Mutual in Indianapolis. Hunter says "I study the claims process to better understand insurance and risk management practices."

Kylyn Stewart is majoring in Finance, and has spent the summer working with the inventory accounting team at Verizon on a gift card escheatment project. They were able to present our recommendation for a new approach to gift cards to the CFO and his team.

Jake Wade is a senior majoring in Finance and minoring in both Sport Management and Criminology. He is a member of the Delta Tau chapter of Delta Sigma Pi. Jake is interning at the American Junior Golf Association which is a 501 (c)3 nonprofit that helps juniors obtain college golf scholarships and develop them professionally.
Jake says “So far I’ve been all over the Southeast region of the United States traveling weekly to different golf courses and events. I officiate the tournaments and interact with the juniors and try to make it a fun and memorable tournament!”
“This summer I’ve learned how to communicate better not only with the juniors but my teammates and how to adapt to challenges that I am given. My favorite part of the internship so far has been the traveling aspect of going event to event to different places I have never been. It’s also been great meeting new people, including getting to meet Jordan Spieth at his event!”
