The Career Center supports career and professional development opportunities for student learning through faculty supplemental grants.

Field Trips (day trips)

• Employer Field Trips are one-day experiences that connect students with employers in the employer’s work setting. The purpose of these trips is to let students have a first-hand experience in a professional setting. Faculty members are invited to apply for up to $1,500 to support such an experience. If possible, a Career Center staff member may accompany your group.

Immersion Trips (overnight trips)

• Employer Immersion Trips are short-term overnight experiences that connect students with employers in the employer’s work setting. The purpose of these trips is to let students have a first-hand experience in a professional setting. Faculty members are invited to apply for up to $2,000 to support such an experience. If possible, a Career Center staff member may accompany your group.

Please note: Funds are made possible by the Career Center. All expenses related to the trip will be paid out of the applicant's departmental budget and reimbursed by the Career Center after all final receipts are submitted and a final report is received. This grant does not support student conference travel.

Funds can be used towards the followed expenses:

• Transportation
• Food (not per diem)
• Supplies
• Admission fees (pre-approval required)
• Miscellaneous other expenses (pre-approval required)

Expenses NOT covered by this grant:

• Conferences
• Alcoholic beverages
• Hotels*
• Capital equipment
• Other expenses as determined by the Career Center

*Funds may be used to cover hotel costs for Immersion Trips only.
