ISU Career Center Mentoring Platform
Indiana State University Career Center’s alumni networking and mentoring platform powered by Ten Thousand Coffees.
ISU Alums have valuable professional and life experiences to share with students seeking advice, tips, mentoring, or networking opportunities. These can be within the same industry or in an entirely different industry. As many people are receiving job offers based on whom they know and network with, this platform is an excellent opportunity for students to take advantage of while in school. The top skills companies are looking for across all industries include active listening, speaking, critical thinking, and social perceptiveness. Improve these skills by connecting with others, sharing your story and asking thoughtful questions.
How it Works
Students and mentors are able to select topics that they are seeking advice/willing to mentor on, which helps Ten Thousand Coffees to make the best student/alumni matches. Students and mentors have control of how often they connect, whether it is in person or virtually, and take accountability for their relationship and what they gain from it. Conversation themes and icebreakers are provided to help make conversation easier.
