John C. Hook Observatory

Observatory Reflection

Temporarily Closed due to Covid-19 Restrictions.

The John Hook Memorial Observatory offers nighttime viewing of the Moon, planets, nebulae, and galaxies.  The observatory is open during the academic year from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Tuesday and Friday evenings provided the night sky is clear

Visits to the observatory are free and open to the public. 

The observatory is located on the roof of the Science Building and is accessed via the front entrance of the Science Building located on the south side of the building facing the ISU fountain.   Access to the roof is by way of a small staircase next to the elevator on the third floor.
