You and your referring healthcare provider will receive a written summary of your appointment. If you choose genetic testing it may be necessary to determining insurance coverage, contact other family members for previously performed testing etc. When the test results are available (if performed), we will review the results with you and your healthcare provider. This may require a second appointment and your preferences will be discussed for a plan of notification prior to receipt of the results. In the long term, we will continue to be a resource for you and your family, but will not replace your current healthcare providers.  

Genetic test results typically take 3-4 weeks from the time the laboratory receives the sample.  In most cases, testing can be completed utilizing saliva and therefore no blood draw is necessary.
