Language Studies Major (37 Hours)
Required Core LLL Courses:
LLL 200 Intro. to Language and Culture for Students of LLL--3 hrs.;
LLL 400 Senior Seminar for Students of LLL - 1 hr.
3 hours in a second language or linguistics course --may be at the 100 level.
21 hours at the 300/400-level course work from within the department
9 hours of course work at the 200 level or above
*Cognate and culture courses in English may be counted only if the student has completed the equivalent of a 100-level course in the same language or linguistic area.
An applied experience component within the 37 hours. May consist of:
- minimum 6 credit hours and 6 weeks in an approved study abroad program
The applied experience requirement may be waived for second majors.
A minimum of 2.5 gpa is required for all course work in the Language Studies degree program
