Tom graduate from Indiana State University in 1980 with a degree in Broadcast Communications and a minor in technical theater.  Both the course of study and a well-rounded education in the College of Arts and Sciences allowed Tom a very diverse and successful career life.  He began his career in television spending 7 years at the CBS affiliate in Indianapolis.  From there he moved on to work for Melvin Simon and Associates opening and becoming the Technical Manager for the famous Indiana Roof Ballroom in Indianapolis.  After 10 years in the entertainment industry the opportunity presented itself where Tom could produce training videos and train for Mayflower Transit in Carmel, IN.  With a company buy-out, he moved on to Butler University where he made the switch to IT as manager of classroom instructional media.  These were exciting times as the internet and the “wired campus” were coming of age. Tom was on the forefront of designing the multimedia classrooms that are the norm today. His last move came in 1997 when he moved to the Health and Hospital Corporation (Marion County Public Health Department), first starting at the IT support desk then becoming the support desk manager and finally becoming an IT project manager for the remaining 10 years of his career. Retiring from full-time work in 2017, Tom currently works part time in operations for Sharp Business Systems, suppliers of multi-function mainframe copiers/printers and state of the art touch screen video displays.
