David WenceRecruitment and Retention Coordinator – Wabash Valley Correctional Facility

David Wence is a graduate from Vincennes University in 1992 with an associate’s degree in law enforcement.  He began his Indiana Department of Corrections career as a Correctional Officer at Wabash Valley Correctional Facility in 1993.  In 1999 David was promoted to Correctional Counselor and during that time received additional training from IDOC to provide curriculum such as Thinking For a Change Facilitator, Level of Service Inventory, Inside Out Dads Facilitator, Field Training Officer / Train the Trainer and SITCON/Hostage Negotiator.  In 2001 David began attending Indiana State University and received his degree in Human Recourse Development in 2004.  David was then promoted to Director of Community Services in 2004 where he continued to work within IDOC with specialized programs at WVCF.  In 2018 David was promoted to Recruitment and Retention Coordinator and now works out of Staff Development and Training for IDOC and is assigned to WVCF, Bloomington, Evansville Parole Divisions and Central Office in Indianapolis.
