Mark L. Eutsler, Ph.D., Ed.D., L.H.D.

Mark EutslerDr. Mark L. Eutsler is Principal of The Edge, a firm that provides facilitating, consulting and coaching to organization leaders maximizing their individual capacities and effectiveness.  As Vice President of the board at St. Paul Christian University in Greensburg, Indiana (November 2008), he oversaw the transition of the university to its present online environment and designed the curriculum by selecting resource materials, developing syllabi, and establishing rubrics for student feedback and faculty evaluation.  He negotiated with four judicatories for the university to provide lay and clergy distance theological education and is presently leading the university’s accreditation team.  He is an adjunct professor in the Olivet Nazarene University Doctor of Education in Ethical Leadership program and an adjunct professor in the Indiana Wesleyan University DeVoe College of Business where he facilitates courses in leadership, management, and communications.

While holding adjunct faculty appointments at several higher education institutions since 1985, Dr. Eutsler has gained experience teaching traditional students and working adults in traditional and accelerated formats in onsite, online, asynchronous, independent, and hybrid learning environments.   During his career he has taught elementary, middle, and high school, undergraduate, and graduate level courses in music, humanities, communication, management, and leadership as well as chairing dissertation committees and facilitating professional development courses of study.  He has held key marketing, development, and curriculum staff appointments in for profit and not for profit organizations and companies throughout Indiana.  He has been a member of numerous professional organizations and has earned several professional designations.

Dr. Eutsler has long been committed to serving the community and has provided leadership to a number of organizations.  For 20 years he chaired the Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana Business Advisory Committee, is past vice president and president-elect of the Frankfort Chamber of Commerce, is past president of the Ouiatenon Club at Wabash College, past president of Metro Ministries, past chair of Operation Classroom, past chair of the Indiana Occupational Safety Standards Commission, and currently serves as chair of the Serve Indiana Commission.  He serves on the Indiana State University President’s National Advisory Board and College of Technology Executive Board.  He received two presidential appointments to the US Selective Service System (local and district appeal boards).  He has co-chaired the nationally televised IPL 500 Festival Parade since 1997.

Dr. Eutsler earned an Ed.D. in Christian Education from the Newburgh Theological Seminary in 2017, a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Trinity College in 2013, a Master of Science in Education from Purdue University with concentrations in Administration and Curriculum in 1984, and a Bachelor of Science in Area Music Education from Indiana State University in 1980.  He received the Doctor of Humane Letters (honoris causa) from St. Paul Christian University in 2018.  Additionally, he has participated in a variety of leadership and community development programs, such as The Fund Raising School of the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, the FBI Citizens’ Academy, the Indianapolis Department of Public Safety Citizens Academy, the Speedway Police Citizens Academy, and the Indianapolis Department of Metropolitan Development’s People’s Planning Academy.
