André Brousseau, a native of West Terre Haute, Indiana, graduated from Indiana State in 2013 with a bachelor’s in Music Business. While at ISU, he was actively involved in a number of organizations and activities: Music Industry Association, the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, the Honors College, the Steel Drum Ensemble led by Dr. Jimmy Finnie, and a variety of other ensembles in the School of Music. He also served the University as a Student Justice on the All-University Court and in SGA as Student Body President. During his term in SGA, he and fellow members of the 50th SGA Administration founded The Forest, the present incarnation of ISU’s official student section for Sycamore athletics. André holds countless cherished memories from his time at ISU, maintains regular contact with dear friends made there, and still gets a little teary-eyed when he hears the Alma Mater.
Today, André serves on the Membership Team for the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM)in Carlsbad, California. As the trade association representing the global music products industry, NAMM hosts The NAMM Show in Anaheim, California each January. Brousseau first experienced NAMM in 2012, when he attended The NAMM Show as part of a contingent of Sycamores led by Dr. Ted Piechocinski. Every year, André looks forward to seeing and catching up with Dr. P. and the gang during their visit to the trade show. Brousseau started his career with NAMM in 2013 as an intern and has since held a variety of roles with the association. His passion for music and serving members extended to other roles in which he served, including time with the Audio Publishers Association in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and with the Country Music Foundation (Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum) in Nashville, Tennessee. Brousseau returned to NAMM in 2017, and now his days are filled developing strategic membership goals, managing various projects, training new hires, crafting targeted messages to engage with NAMM members, and serving as the staff liaison for NAMM Young Professionals. He even finds time to jam with buddies during lunch on Thursdays.
André is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the California Society of Association Executives (CalSAE). He is currently pursuing professional credentials to become a Certified Association Executive and Certified Nonprofit Professional. His expertise is centered around association and arts nonprofit management, membership organizations, project management, and marketing. When not at work, André is often in the outdoors exploring the Sierra Nevada, the Mojave Desert, or any other space Nature has to offer. He also runs a small photography outfit called Nature Dude Photography, offering landscape and household pet photoshoot services. André lives in Vista, California with his wonderful wife Erica and their two cats, Hughey and Mister.
