Brent McPikeBrent McPike joined the faculty of Indiana State University in 2001. At age 20, he was selected as one of six guitarists from a nation-wide audition tour to perform at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia. Since that time McPike has performed extensively as a solo guitarist (fingerstyle jazz/popular/classical), with his band The Haute Club, and in recent years with two-time Winfield National Mandolin Champion Solly Burton. In March, 2009, McPike and duo partner Dan Sumner took First Prize in the Guitar Duo/Professional Division of the Brownsville Guitar Ensemble Festival and Competition, playing mostly McPike's original works. In 2011 he won the Indiana State Thumbpicking championship at Princeton, IN. In addition to three albums of original music as well as original folk arrangements, his discography includes a companion to the famous Lecciones de Guitarras series by Argentine guitarist, Julio Sagreras, which is distributed by CDBaby.com.
