Eric Rodriguez

Eric Rodriguez is a professional trumpeter that currently resides in Muncie Indiana and currently serves as Adjunct Professor of Trumpet at Taylor University. Mr. Rodriguez, a Texas native, earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance at McNeese State University and his Master’s in Music from Stephen F. Austin State University. He is currently in the process of completing his Doctor of Arts from Ball State University. At Stephen F. Austin, Eric paved the way to success with his acceptance to the semi-final round of the National Trumpet Competition Graduate Solo and Small Ensemble Division in 2017. He would be accepted to the National Trumpet Competition three more times in 2019, 2020, and 2021. During his time at Ball State, he has performed in multiple ensembles including the Ball State Jazz Ensemble, which completed an invitational trip to Dizzy’s Club in New York City in March of 2022. You can also find Eric in Sutton Foster’s “Take Me to the World” Album which was recorded and produced in 2018 with the Ball State Symphony Orchestra. Over his career, Mr. Rodriguez has performed for groups such as Canadian Brass, Boston Brass, Bria Skonberg, Ingrid Jensen, Wynton Marsalis, and Joey DeFrancesco. He currently holds the Principal Trumpet position at Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, and section trumpet with Terre Haute Symphony along with Mr. Jay Ellsmore. He has also performed with Carmel Symphony, Lafayette Symphony, Lima Symphony, Orchestra Indiana, and Earlham College Orchestra.
