Janet PalmbergJanet Palmberg is a specialist in the teaching of early-level piano students and group piano pedagogy. At ISU, she teaches piano pedagogy-related courses and class piano.

Active as an adjudicator and workshop clinician, Dr. Palmberg has authored articles on piano pedagogy that have appeared in professional publications and conference proceedings. She has presented sessions at the World Piano Pedagogy Conference, the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy, and state and national conferences of the Music Teachers National Association. Other appearances have included presentations at the 2011 and 2015 Australasian Piano Pedagogy Conferences in Australia, the 2012 (Greece) and 2016 (Scotland) International Society of Music Educators World Conferences, and the European Piano Teachers Association Conferences in Malta (2018) and Portugal (2022).

As an active member of professional organizations, Dr. Palmberg has held many offices, including President of the Indiana Music Teachers Association, President of the Indiana Group Piano Teachers Association, membership on committees of the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy, and Foundation Chair of the Indiana Music Teachers Association. She was named Teacher of the Year 2000 by the Indiana Music Teachers Association.
